2 Chronicles 14:11

2 Chronicles 14:11
"And Asa cried unto The Lord, his God, and said, Lord it is nothing with Thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have not power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest in thee, and in Thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against Thee."

Asa became king when his father Abijah died. He tore down the idols and strange gos in a partially affective effort to abolish idolatry. He lead His nation in following God and he rebuilt cities as part of his reign.

The key message of 2 Chronicles  14:11 is 'The Lord Is Our Strength'.
Asa was going into battle with less troops than His opponent. (2 Chronicles 8-9 "...out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin... two hundred and fourscore thousand...against them Zerah the Ethiopian with ab host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots..." )

As Judah and Ethiopia were battling against each other, Asa is crying out to God in 4:11 for help. He says "...help us , O Lord our God; for we rest in thee..." God is our rest and our help. We can call our to Him in our time of need.

With great help from God he won the battle and came away with great spoil. ( 2 Chronicles 14:13-15 "...and they carried away much spoil...They smote also the tents of the cattle and carried away sheep and camels in abundance..." )  God rewards those who follow Him!
