Operation Christmas Child

I have begun writing Orphan related posts on this blog as it is one of my passions. I hope to raise awareness and get people involved! I especially hope to help Teens find ways to minister to Orphans!

Although Operation Christmas Child does not cater specifically to Orphans, Orphans do get the boxes and it is a great way to minister to children in general!

Heres what we did!

"Boys and girls tell their friends and family about Jesus after learning about His love through Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts"

How to Pack your Shoebox!

Here are some ideas from Samaritan's Purse for what you could pack!

TOYS:
Include items that children will immediately embrace such as dolls, toy cars, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, balls, toys that light up and make noise (with extra batteries), etc.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES:
pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc.

NON-LIQUID HYGIENE ITEMS:
toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, washcloths, etc.

ACCESSORIES:
t-shirts, socks, hats, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries), etc.

A PERSONAL NOTE:
You may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. If you include your name and address, the child may be able to write back.

If for some reason you can't pack one yourself, you can pack one online!
See/Read stories about how Operation Christmas Child is being used!

You can get a whole bunch made by hosting a packing party!

You can even track your shoebox to see where it goes!

"A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children's lives all over the world in Jesus' Name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child."
