This question is referring to part IV Chapter 2 of Crime and Punishment.
Was she heartless and cruel? No.
Was she stern and reactionary? Yes.
Was this right? Yes.
I would say while Dounia may have treated him coldly, she had perfectly good reason to. I do not think her act of self defense, nor her refusal were wrong, in fact, I think they were quite right.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this? Do you think Dounia was cold?
